About the Artist

I am an artist and scientific illustrator based in Tucson, AZ. I specialize in illustrating the flora and fauna of the Sonoran Desert and Sky Islands region.

I care deeply about this unique place, the wildlife that calls it home, and the serious environmental issues it’s currently facing- drought, desertification, over-development, invasive species, wildfire risk, and environmental injustices to vulnerable human populations, among many others. With my art, I aim to showcase the ecological wonders that make this region so special, while bringing awareness to these issues and the ways people can address them.

My professional and educational background in environmental education, scientific communication, and community engagement informs my work and allows me to create art that is as effective as it is visually appealing. I believe in the power of visual storytelling and aim to create pieces that aid in teaching and understanding.

I use a variety of media in my art including watercolor, colored pencil, graphite, pen and ink, and scratchboard. And as a long time naturalist, birder, and nature artist, I possess refined observational skills which allow me to be very detailed and highly accurate in my art.

I have worked with environmental organizations and nonprofits to create artwork to promote their work. Past clients include Tucson Bird Alliance (formally Tucson Audubon Society) and Friends of Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge. I am open to working with any organization that align with my values of environmental conservation and social justice.

In addition, I love creating commissions for folks wanting artwork for their own personal use. I have created art for people’s homes,
